High Meadows Faculty

Exceptional teachers implementing exemplary programs.

With more than 35 years of experience in preparing students to meet the academic, social, and creative challenges, our programs are designed to foster a love for learning that carries our students not only from Preschool to Middle Years, but beyond High Meadows. We ensure structures for caring and serious learning; structures that enable teachers to know students well and to work with them intensely.

Co-teachers are in place to support collaboration focused on student learning. We promote shared decision-making and dialogue about teaching and learning with other teachers, students, and parents.

"The High Meadows staff believes that respecting the child's natural exploratory way of learning preserves the child's desire to learn."

The High Meadows staff is knowledgeable of child growth and development, curriculum, and learning theories. Since our philosophy emphasizes learning as a lifetime skill, teachers model lifelong learning. Well over 50% of High Meadows teachers are pursuing or have completed their graduate or post-graduate work. Within the past five years, 90% of faculty have completed the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme Level 1 training and 75% of teachers have taken Advanced Level Primary Years Programme. In addition, 100% of teachers have completed 50 hour technology course, Balanced Literacy training, Positive Discipline training, Schools Attuned – All Kinds of Minds, Handwriting Without Tears (Preschool – Kindergarten), Cross-Grade Curriculum Development, and Interactive Board Training (Kindergarten – 8th grade).
