High
Meadows’ annual Auction is simply not to be missed. This
adult affair provides parents and guests the opportunity to socialize,
dine, and dance – and to support High Meadows through an extraordinary
silent auction and an exciting live auction where families compete
in bidding wars for one-of-a-kind artistic creations (made by the
children and some very talented parent volunteers). In recent years,
some of these gallery-quality projects have included: a stone birdbath
with an inset mosaic sunburst, a life-size jeweled rooster, an exquisitely
crafted chess set, large folk-art sculptures, and tiled and painted
furniture. Regardless of who has the winning bid, everyone who sees
this annual display of student artwork gains a better understanding
of the educational experience High Meadows provides.

"I
had no idea the classroom projects would be such original
and collectible pieces of art....But what really amazed
me was the sense of school community." |
