The High Meadows Fund is High Meadows School’s top giving priority because it directly supports the two most important aspects of our community – our students and teachers. It is fundamental to the school’s operating budget, and dollars raised each year go toward:

  • Attracting best-in-class faculty and staff, and support them through professional development
  • Providing students with small class sizes and individualized attention
  • Offering financial aid that fosters community

The High Meadows Fund helps support every student in every classroom every day.

“I give to the High Meadows Fund so that I am able to contribute as much as I can to give back to the school that will provide so much in the coming years for my children.”

HIGH MEADOWS PARENT

Every Student

Your tax-deductible, unrestricted gift ensures that every High Meadows student benefits from an exceptional educational experience beyond what tuition alone would cover. The High Meadows Fund closes the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a High Meadows education.

Every Classroom

High Meadows Fund donations are crucial to fostering a love of learning for all our students because it helps us employ highly-credentialed faculty and develop new dynamic programming.

Every Day

Our Board of Trustees and Head of School are committed to minimizing tuition increases. That is largely driven by the strength of the High Meadows Fund which comes from the collective participation of parents, alumni, grandparents, trustees, faculty, staff, and other friends of the school – a community larger than just those who pay tuition.

Family of Funds

The High Meadows Fund supports six areas that are fundamental to our school’s success. You can choose which specific area you would like to support:

Supporting Overall Needs

General gifts support all of the things that keep High Meadows the extraordinary community it is.

From operational expenses to need-based financial aid for children who otherwise would not be able to attend, a gift directed toward this area will be spent on the items of our greatest need.

Supporting Teachers

Our teachers have a passion for learning, and their energy and expertise inspire our students
every day.

Gifts directed toward this area will pay for professional development programs and support the ongoing goal to strengthen faculty compensation and benefits.

Supporting Technology & Innovation

Robotics kits, coding equipment, interactive whiteboards, and iPads are just a few of the tools our teachers use to enhance our students’ experiences.

A gift directed toward this area will provide classroom and virtual technology and materials that support innovative teaching practices. Our need to be ready for virtual learning has required an increase in funding for technology.

Supporting Connections & The Arts

We believe that connections and the arts are core academic experiences that open a world of possibilities for our children.

Gifts directed toward this area will help pay for items like musical instruments, PE equipment, art materials, library books, and animal care supplies.

Supporting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

DEI efforts are at the heart of High Meadows School. Gifts directed to this area enable us to live out our Diversity Statement through ongoing curriculum development, faculty/staff DEI professional development (including speakers and trainings), and the DEI Coordinator position. As a result, we are able to create a diverse and inclusive environment for our High Meadows community.

Supporting Greens & Grounds

As stewards of our beautiful 42-acre campus, the various needs for annual campus upkeep are vast.

Gifts directed to this area will support our commitment to using our natural campus as an everyday classroom.

Frequently Asked Questions about The High Meadows Fund

The Fund offers a tax-deductible opportunity to augment tuition revenue that supports the school’s operating budget. It allows the High Meadows community—parents, alumni, faculty, staff, trustees, grandparents and friends of all financial circumstances—the ability to support the life of the school. This is a common practice for most independent schools throughout the country and is becoming more valuable as we continue to face rising expenses.

Our school’s general operating budget. Dollars raised ensure that the school can attract and support excellent faculty and staff, offer dynamic programming, allow students access to new technology, and maintain our one-of-a-kind campus. In these ways, the funds help to maintain small classroom sizes and makes possible professional development opportunities for our faculty and staff. The High Meadows Fund also enables the school to offer financial aid opportunities that foster community.

A gift to the Fund sends a powerful message that you believe in High Meadows School and our mission. When you participate, you become part of the school’s philanthropic legacy in support of teaching and learning. Additionally, broad support from our entire school community helps to influence the giving decisions of community foundations and other outside giving opportunities.

Most of any school budget is applied to its people and facility maintenance, leaving little flexibility due to those fixed costs. We ask those who can stretch to please do so, given that not everyone is able due to their current circumstances.

No. The High Meadows Fund is a primary source for unrestricted, annual operating support. Those critical, flexible dollars allow the school to meet the most pressing and immediate needs of the school. High Meadows does not have a sizeable endowment relative to other peer institutions of its size to augment revenue provided by tuition dollars, which makes us more dependent on the success of the High Meadows Fund.
