More About Board Members

David Boatright joined the High Meadows Board in 2009. He and his wife Daphne brought their daughter, who graduated in 2014, to High Meadows as a preschooler in 2005. They have another son in 4th grade at High Meadows. David Boatright is the manager of Gabriel Holdings. His development of the propriety Mergers and Acquisitions selection model, the “4M Characteristic Filter,” is a foundational tool upon which Gabriel Holdings bases its decisions to make equity investments in start-up, venture, and emerging businesses. The model stems from a 20+ year career with executive positions at The Coca-Cola Company, PricewaterhouseCoopers, EY and IBM, leading corporate strategy, brand management, operations improvement, and sales. Mr. Boatright received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with an Evans Scholars full academic scholarship, and a Masters in Business Administration with focuses in marketing and finance from the University of Illinois (UI) at Urbana. As an undergraduate, David was a three-year letterman in Varsity Football, and he ended his football career on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. David serves on the Executive Committee.

Pat Boren joined the Board in 2016 and has been associated with the High Meadows community for 5 years, she currently has two grandsons in the first and third grades. Most recently Pat was able to leverage her previous experience in planning and executing a corporate United Way campaign to co-chair the High Meadows Grand Friends fundraising program for 2014-2015. Professionally Pat worked for the Georgia Power Company for 23 years, primarily in the Finance organization; she is the former Financial Communications Coordinator. After retiring, she spent a number of years traveling and assisting her husband in transacting and managing energy deals, both domestically and internationally. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Erica Davis joined the Board in 2016. She has been a strategist for the past 7+ years, leading digital marketing and advertising programs for Fortune 500 companies. She has also has previously worked at corporate companies such as The Home Depot and Autotrader.com developing their online content and promotional strategies. She holds Bachelors degrees in both Communications and Political Science from Miami University, is an active member of the Junior League of Atlanta, and is a volunteer coach through the Roswell Parks and Recreation. Her two children started High Meadows in the Fall of 2015.

Holli Hutson Fahnestock joined the High Meadows Board in 2013. She holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and English literature/creative writing from Agnes Scott College where she was involved for 10 years in fundraising and served on the Alumnae Board as the National Fund Chair. As founder of H+H Content Marketing, she spends her days writing and managing social media for clients. As members of the High Meadows Community since 2006, Holli has three sons at High Meadows in 8th, 4th and 2nd grade. Holli chairs the Committee on Trustees. 

Jody Holden is a founder of High Meadows School. In 1973, she joined with Bill Crawford, Jay Dickerson, and Mike Drake to create a program that would offer preschool, kindergarten, and camp programs. With her high interest and great expertise in early childhood development and education, she contributed greatly to the philosophies and beliefs of High Meadows—continuing as part of the school faculty and school leadership until 1999. Currently, she works as a resource teacher for the elementary grades in the City Schools of Decatur. She returned to leadership at High Meadows when she joined the board in 2006. Two of her sons were counselors at camp, two grandsons attended Preschool, and five grandchildren have been campers.

Tom Junod joined the Board during the 2014-15 school year. Tom is a writer-at-large for Esquire Magazine, a position he's held since 1997. Tom is the recipient of two National Magazine Awards from the American Society of Magazine Editors, one of the most prestigious awards in the profession. He has also won the James Beard Award for an essay on his mother's cooking and his story on 9/11, The Falling Man, was recognized as one of the seven best stories ever run by Esquire during its 75th Anniversary celebration. Tom lives in Marietta with his wife, Janet, and his daughter, a 7th grader here at High Meadows. Tom chairs the Strategic Planning Committee.

Wain Kellum joined the High Meadows Board in 2015. Wain is Managing Partner of Canal Partners, where he is responsible for identifying potential acquisition targets, due diligence, financial analysis and final investment decision making. Wain also serves as a Strategic Advisor to Vonage Holdings. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, an M.B.A from Georgia State University and has completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School. Wain was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Southeast, was named one of the 25 most influential people in the Southeast technology community by TechJournal South and received the Southeastern AeA “Spirit of Endeavor” Award for Outstanding Leadership. Wain and his wife Alicia have 2 sons at High Meadows. Wain serves as Treasurer and Finance Co-Chair.

Damond Logsdon, a clinical neuropsychologist, joined the High Meadows Board in 2012. Damond is chair of the Development Committee. He has more than 14 years of experience evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with psychological, neurological, and developmental disorders. He holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Louisville. Damond has a daughter (HMS Class of 2016) and a son in 5th grade at High Meadows.

Jon Ramsey, a member of the High Meadows community since 2009, has a technology and business background. Jon serves on the Finance Committee and assisted with the development of the strategic plan approved in 2011. Jon, who joined the board in 2012, has two children who attend High Meadows.

Chris Rogers joined the Board in 2016. Chris serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rogers Electric. He started his career with the company in the 1990s but grew up around the construction industry. He began working in the electrical trade at age 13. In his current role, Chris manages the growth strategy of Rogers Electric and is guiding the company into new markets for the future. He has aggressively adopted technology advances to better serve the company’s growing nationwide customer base. This includes implementing a proprietary GPS/communications routing system for each vehicle that allows all of the company’s more than 300 trucks to be instantly identified and routed to service calls. Chris received his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn University in Auburn, Ala. Chris and his wife Jennifer have two children. Chris serves as Finance Co-Chair. 

Steve Romeyn returned to the High Meadows Board of Trustees  in 2012, having served previously, including four years as chairman in the 1990’s. He and his wife Carlyn were active at the School for nine years beginning with their daughter’s 1989 Kindergarten enrollment through her graduation in 1998. Their second daughter attended High Meadows from 1991-96. Steve is the co-founder and managing partner of Windsong Properties, LLC, a home building company serving active adults since 2003. Steve serves as Vice Chair.

Mark Sedgley joined the High Meadows Board in 2015 and has worked in the technology/association space for going on 12 years now. He has helped MemberClicks, a SaaS based AMS, grow from just under 300 customers in 2004 to over 1400 today. As part of leading MemberClicks, he has worked hard to drive a culture of innovation to Small Staff Associations across the country, including participating actively in ASAE and serving on their Small Staff Association Committee. On a personal note, he has been married to his High school sweetheart, Dorota. They reside in suburban Atlanta with their three children Jake, Ashton, and Kaia. Mark graduated from Wake Forest University with a dual degree in Literature and East Asian Studies and yes, he has done exactly zero with it since!

Steve Shlansky joined the High Meadows Board in 2012. Steve is founder and CEO of GO! Experience Design, a division of Omnicom Group. GO! Experience Design is a design and execution agency specializing in marketing and communications events for major corporations. This year marks Steve’s fourth as Board Chair. He and his wife Michelle came to High Meadows in 2010 and have one daughter (HMS Class of 2015) in addition to their other two grown children.

Marcia Prewitt Spiller joined the High Meadows Board in 2016. She is the Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs at Woodward Academy in College Park, GA. Prior to being appointed to this position, Spiller was Head of The Children’s School in Atlanta a position she held for more than two decades. In 2009, Spiller was elected chair of the board of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). She held this position until 2012. Spiller has also served on the boards of the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and the Elementary School Heads Association (ESHA); and is a current member and past president of the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA). She conducts seminars and workshops on diversity, multi-cultural curriculum and teacher training. She has worked with schools internationally assisting with accreditation including schools in Managua, Nicaragua, Bogota, Columbia and San Salvador, El Salvador and United Arab Emirates.

Lisa Bigazzi Tilt joined the High Meadows Board in 2015. Lisa founded Full Tilt Consulting in 2006 and has had a 25-year career in public relations, working with companies like Whole Foods Market, Panera Bread, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Six Flags and Turner Broadcasting System. She has received more than 20 awards from the Public Relations Society of America, International Association of Business Communicators and Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International for her results, including "Best in Show" and national honors for her work opening Phillips Arena in Atlanta for Ted Turner and Turner Sports & Entertainment, Inc. Lisa is a High Meadows Camp alum from the 1970's, and rejoined the High Meadows community in 2011 with her husband, Mike, and two children at High Meadows. Lisa serves as Secretary of the Board.

Jay Underwood has been the Head of High Meadows School since July 2010. He moved to the Atlanta area from Santa Fe, N. M., where he was the Head of the Rio Grande School for five years. Jay has over 20 years’ experience in education across the grade levels, holding positions as diverse as public middle school vice principal and adult English language instructor in Ecuador. He has a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision from Rutgers University and a bachelor of arts degree in English from Guilford College. Jay and his wife Maureen have two daughters (HMS Class of 2014).
