n Pre-K through Fifth grades, High Meadows School is dedicated to having two lead teachers in every class, 70% of whom hold master’s or other advanced degrees. This co-teaching model lowers student-teacher ratios dramatically and is unique compared to most other schools.
Co-taught classrooms raise the level of understanding of each child’s strengths, areas for opportunity, interests, and needs. It enables students to:
Observe adults modeling collaboration
Benefit from multiple perspectives and teaching styles in the classroom
Experience more curricular differentiation
Have frequent small group and individual time with teachers
Parents benefit from co-taught classes by receiving regular feedback from two qualified educators, whose thoughts and observations about each child are more robust than would be possible in a classroom with a single instructor and higher student/teacher ratio.
Every High Meadows class from Pre-K through Fifth Grade has two educators who work together to serve their entire class of students. All teachers participate in planning and implementing curriculum and assessing student achievement.
Content experts teach courses, and students develop relationships with a consistent group of teachers throughout their experience
