Why High Meadows? One Middle School Family's Story

When Anton and Elvira decided to seek a new educational experience for their daughter, Ava, their research led them to High Meadows School and its 42-acre campus.
High Meadows is a place that honored her talents and curiosities, and allowed her to grow, thrive, and benefit from a strong academic program that would prepare her for high school.

“High Meadows is not an ordinary school,” her parents shared. “It is a home away from home and will give your child everything they need to be happy and successful."

Ava is a bright, creative, and gifted learner who immediately flourished in a setting that prioritizes a holistic approach to education within a small, familial environment. As a progressive school, High Meadows values students having a voice and choice in the classroom, provides robust opportunities for connection to nature, and employs an inquiry-driven learning model.

The school’s philosophy has allowed Ava to experience joy each day while pursuing her interests. Her parents appreciate that academics in a classroom setting are intertwined with regular opportunities to explore and learn throughout the vast campus.

“The combination of traditional classroom time and outdoor learning plays a vital role in the development of teenagers,” her parents mentioned. “Group projects and events with peers made Ava feel part of a special place. She will carry these valuable experiences with her throughout her school journey and beyond.”

Ava is excelling at High Meadows. She is an active member of the debate team and has quickly formed strong bonds with her peers. There is no doubt she is well-prepared for a successful transition to public high school next year, both academically and socially.

“High Meadows was the right place for Ava, and we are happy we decided to switch schools,” her parents stated. “Ava’s unique qualities and interests, which might have been overlooked in public school, were recognized and celebrated by the teachers at High Meadows. With the help of the faculty and counselors, Ava was able to overcome fears and anxieties, take bold steps to experience new opportunities, and grow as a person. She discovered independence, embraced new concepts and perspectives, and became far more confident and assertive.”
