High Meadows School is pleased to announce the appointment of Bud Lichtenstein as interim Head of School & Camp, effective July 15, 2019. In this role, he will lead planning, budgeting and all other operations for the school and camp for the 2019 – 2020 school year. During that time, the school will conduct a search for a permanent Head of School. Mr. Lichtenstein will work closely with the current Head of School, Jay Underwood, throughout the remainder of the current school year to ensure a seamless leadership transition.
The High Meadows Board of Directors selected Mr. Lichtenstein for his belief in progressive education, approach to student voice and choice, strong understanding of the school’s mission and educational philosophy, and experience leading an independent school. He most recently served as Director of The Common School in Amherst, MA. There, he managed all aspects of administration including finances, admissions, fundraising, alumni relations, teacher supervision and curriculum development. He also has extensive experience leading curriculum development and building collaborative school partnerships at various schools in the Northeast.
