ATLANTA/ROSWELL – Oct. 27, 2023 – High Meadows School, an independent, International Baccalaureate® (IB) school focused on progressive education for students in Pre-K through Eighth Grade, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in November. Located on 42 acres in Roswell, Ga., High Meadows is also home to its renowned summer day camp founded the same year, offering children a rich and varied learning landscape to complement and expand learning since 1973.
“While exploring the land that is now our campus, four forward-thinking educators conceived the idea of a progressive school and summer day camp designed to emphasize exploration, discovery, and multi-age learning. Our programs have grown and evolved over time, but these core values are still at the heart of the student experience at High Meadows,” says Lisa Baker, head of High Meadow School and Camp. “Fifty years is an incredible legacy of achievement to celebrate. The events we have planned for our anniversary weekend in November give us an opportunity to turn our eyes to the future as we celebrate the past and imagine the next 50 years of High Meadows.”
The High Meadows Anniversary Weekend celebration is open to the public and will take place Nov. 3-5. Alumni students and families, former teachers and staff, and the countless friends of High Meadows across decades are invited to join our current families and faculty in celebrating this historic milestone. Come walk the campus, swing on the tire swing, meet the barnyard animal menagerie, and say hello to teachers and old friends.
